Book 2 of 3. This one finds Lexi in France working for the Delacroix Bakery and then starting cooking school in the fall. She makes new friends and is among the top ten graduates in her class. She bonds with the young daughter of one of the owners who is widowed and they begin to see if there is any sparkle. She is offered a job in Seattle at the new Delacroix bakery. She decides to return and see if she and Dan can develop and then learns that Phillipe and his daughter will also be moving to Seattle to run the other family bakery.

No HEA until book 3! I really liked this series. The story is fun if you like food, cakes, French, and want to find God's guidance in your life as well. Lexi has options and has to make decisions. Recipes included. ( )

I liked this book very much. However, I wish I had started with the first book so that I would be more familiar with characters (like Dan for example). But this book was promoted as a freebie, so I downloaded it. I hope my library has the trilogy! ( )

I know, I have never given 1/2 look before, but I had to in this case. This book is so much better than the first in this series, but not quite good enough for 4 looks. I will definitely read the next one (and my thanks to Byrd for keeping this series short) to find out what happens, but it didn't have the substance, panache and soulfulness that a 4-look-book has. I suppose, simply said, it's just because it's a light beach read that is keeping me from giving it more. Unfair? Nah!

I recommend.
