Being the fashion guru Stacey is, she cannot resist the opportunity to help out a newcomer to school who seems fashion-challenged. Is Stacey in this relationship for true friendship or just to 'fix' Tess? This question is especially pertinent because Stacey is not open about her friendship. Also, I notice that while Tess is described as being a big girl (not fat, just big) the cover shows her to be actually an average-looking girl. Yes, I know it's just a cover illustration, but it always bothers me when covers don't jibe with the book. Nonetheless, this is a decent installment in the Baby-Sitters Club series.
