Just as others in the Elf-Help series, Keeping-up-your-spirits Therapy is thoughtfully conceived, beautifully written, and chock full of wisdom. R.W. Alley's illustrations set the perfect note to deliver 35 spirit-lifting bits of advice. The day that I first opened it, there were the three that particularly spoke to my condition the day I opened this little book:
4. Think of a special friend. There's someone who loves you because you're you.
11. Don't despair. A broken heart can mend if you give God all the pieces.
13. Cherish your memories. Recall those that make you smile.
30. Accept suffering as a way of uncovering true values. You may not feel it, but you're growing.

These Elf-Help wisdom bits didn't just lift my mood; they reminded me of the things that first pulled me down. Help yourself to an Elf hug. Give one to a friend. ( )
