I don't venture too much into sequels into Jane Austen's novels because 1) I was burned by one really, really, really bad one and 2) well, I'm happy with the way all her books ended, so why add on or change things? However, when I got this book as a gift, I figured I'd give it a try. This book looks at Mr. Darcy's younger sister Georgiana and her search for love. As such, the many beloved characters of Pride and Prejudice are mostly relegated to the sideline, if included at all. While this book wasn't as classic as Austen (missing most notably is her wit and irony), it's a quick, enjoyable read. ( ) no reviews | add a review

Jane Austen's story of Elizabeth Bennet Darcy ends with Elizabeth's marriage. The Baders continue her story as wife, mother and confidante to her sister in law, Georgiana. Set in the years 1805-1816, the story tells the romantic adventures of beautiful, shy, devout Georgiana. Along the way, issues of duty and desire, in marriage and in one's relationship to God, are presented. No library descriptions found. |
