Let’s Visit an Apple Orchard is a ‘First-Start Easy Reader’ story about a class field trip to the orchard. The easy reader contains short words that are repeated to help young readers develop word recognition and interest in reading. This story contains one line per page with full-page watercolor spreads. The illustrations contain clues that directly parallel the text in order to help readers sound out words. The illustrations have mostly circular shapes with smooth textures. The repetitive language creates a pattern context that makes this story fun for beginning readers. Since this book is for early readers, the story would be more appealing if the text was enlarged.
