No current Talk conversations about this book. life of French serial killer 2130 The Real Bluebeard, by Jean Benedetti (read 20 Feb 1988) Gilles de Rais was born in 1404 and executed 26 Oct 1440. He was a right hand to St, Joan of Arc, but beginning in 1433 began killing children, after doing evil with them. I don't know how accurate this book is, but it purports to be based on actual records though it lacks footnotes, etc. I did not like the book--it says St. Joan was probably a witch. Honestly! It is kind of a pulp book, and was not worth reading. no reviews | add a review

This work aims to get behind the myths and present the real Bluebeard, Gilles de Rais, one of the most enduring baddies of history. His infamy lives on, the precursor of our own time's serial killers and a founding father of the cult of the child-snatching bogeyman. No library descriptions found. |
