Description

The account books for the Hotel Guenegaud provide a rich source of material for the student of 17th-century theatre, but have so far not been published in fascimile form due to their vast amount of information and chaotic form. This volume is divided into two parts: the first part presents the ticket sales and the revenue derived from them in tabular form. The second part deals with the general accounts, selecting items of expenditure that illustrate the running of the theatre, with show more particular reference to the introduction of plays into the repertory and their maintenance once there. show less
