Deleuze acha em Nietzsche um sistema filosófico na qual o embate de forças se diferencia e origina tudo o que deve ser então interpretado. A crítica passa a ser então dos pressupostos e de encontro ao que move as concepções de mundo e arcabouços conceituais. Diferentemente de Klossowski, Deleuze apara as pontas, e fornece já muito do que vai ser sua filosofia no Diferença e Repetição. Nesse sentido, o caso do eterno retorno é exemplar. Mesmo que misterioso, aparece aqui como consistente.
