This book is an overview of competitive swimming with an emphasis on pool swimming. Open water swimming is only covered briefly. The book contains a lot of stuff about motivation and goals.
The technical description of the four swimming strokes is covered on 60-80 pages. This part mentions each aspect of a proper technique in an understandable way. What is missing (and this is my main objection) is a deeper explanation of WHY each aspect is important. In other words, a consideration of the physical foundations is missing. However, since one of the authors is an Olympic champion the advice has its value, of course.
