Randomly remembered reading this book when I was little, and had to buy a cheap copy for the nostalgia! On an anthropomorphic level, poor wolf, but as a life lesson for young girls - stay clever, Polly, and keep the obnoxiously persistent wolves from the door! ( )

Does just what it says on the tin: the bad wolf is dumb and the little girl is precocious. Meant for quite little ones, but also I think it hasn't aged very well. ( )
