This is baby aminal book by the numbers, but with VERY cute illustrations. Bunny + Duck is an unintuitive but sublime combination, like watermelon and feta cheese.
This is a great board book for beginning readers/early readers. The text is simple and follows a hide and seek game theme. Duck (in lederhosen) is looking for Little Bunny. Duck wanders a woodland running into other creatures in the forest (this introduces a child to other animals in a fairly realistic yet stylized illustration). Little Bunny is carefully drawn into every picture, so this could be an added bonus to reading the book for small children. "Who can find Little Bunny," in the picture?" There is always personification in animal stories, and this one is not an exception. I really liked the chipmunk picture that had a toy car and ball cap! In the end of the story the resolution is predictable, Duck looks under himself and sees show more Little Bunny's feet. He was there all the time, as the illustrations portray. Then the game of Hide and Seek starts all over again, Little Bunny though is now going to look for Duck. Nice, predictable, with stylized yet realistic pictures. I also like the size of the copy I have, it may be 7" square. A good size for little hands. show less
