“Inspiration : Your Ultimate Calling” is a book that attempts to look inward rather than looking outside of the self for encouragement or inspiration. In the book, Dyer encourages readers to ignore the ego based, goal oriented ways of living and to seek the nonphysical self. The major focus of the book teaches that motivation is the struggle towards a set goal, while inspiration comes from within and uses an infinite power to bring abundance or peace towards us. So rather than pleasing the ego by forever running after goals, we should let the goals flow naturally towards us by looking inward, and remaining content with our current life. Granted, it does have some strong elements of new age spirituality floating around in it, show more however, if you can get past that, Dyer does raise some interesting questions about our chosen-ess and our purpose in life. show less
Dr. Dyer has a fantastic book here. It is simple, inspirational, and one that helps focus the reader on the "Bright side of Life" (with thanks to Monty Python). While I often find these kinds of books to be a bit "airy Fairy" to coin a over-hacked cliche' this one really got my intentions focused and did the job. Dr. Dyer is a easy reading author. His book is short, succinct, and very motivational. A must read!
I'm a longtime fan of Dr. Dyer. This book is about focusing on purpose and on the ways that Spirit can guide us to fulfilling our missions here. There are more application tips in this book, as there were in The Power of Intention, and I loved the list of symptoms, so to speak, of living an inspired life.

I was given the opportunity to review not only this 252 page book but was also blessed with the 2 CD set by the same name. I felt both were very refreshing and chock a block full with awesome information that helped me to see my life in a clearer and more positive way. Dr. Dyer has been an inspiration to a lot of people and this talk will help so many to find their right place in this big universe.
The book I enjoyed because of it's little exercises, simple format and the chapters were so easy to follow and well labeled and I could feel the author's warmth right through every page. I also loved the CDs because I was able to hear his reassuring voice, and also to hear wonderful and show more inspiring stories from people who had overcome so much in there lives. I especially loved the story of how the butterfly, named Jack got on the front cover. I have been a fan of Dr. Dyer's for many many years, and when I listen to his CDs or read his books it never fails to get me out of myself and help to set me back firmly on the right path. I would recommend the book or the CDs to anyone who is serious about cultivating a more positive attitude about their lives.

I am so excited to have this book and for the point of view it takes that mirrors my own beliefs. I'm sure it will be very valualble. I can watch the PBS broadcasts of Dr. Dyer every day they are aired and always learn more about making my life more valuable. I expect to be reading this book more than once for awhile and there I have no doubt that it's worth five stars.
Companion book to PBS fund-raising show. Clearly written for both the beginner and the advanced seeker of self and enlightenment. For Dyer, inspiration is an aspect of God (or higher power) that we all have within ourselves. As we focus on the attributes of God, we begin to see them in ourselves. This book is a combination of philosophy and spirituality that proposes to lift the self esteem of the reader.
One of many books by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer that I have read. As I finished the book I'm reminded that he is no longer with us. It comforting to realize that his words of wisdom will live on in his books, videos and audio recordings. May he rest in peace.
