When you first begin to read Kenny's book you kind of wonder if this guy is writing about tying flies or trying to write well turned prose or poetry. The more you read, you realize his genuis in relating the feel and behavior of a fly that is alive! He stresses that in order for a fly to be exceptionally effective it has to be alive, not just a mechanical pattern copied from a book. The fish should eat the fly because it feels it is the natural thing to do with the creation that is in front of it, not because it caght the fishes attention, or angered the fish into striking. This is what fly tying should be about. ( ) no reviews | add a review
