This book is what I like to call a "slow-starter". It started off rather boring, but eventually it did grab my attention. It took quite awhile for me to finish this book; mostly because I had so much trouble really getting into it in the beginning.
I found parts of this book a bit hard to follow as well. I have never cared as much for the third person omniscient point of view. It can get a little confusing when the book has several characters. Let me tell you, this book certainly has its fair share of characters. The book switches character's points of view so often that I may or may not have developed a sort of reading whiplash!
All of that being said, though, the characters were interesting enough to keep me going until the plot picked show more up. Once the plot became more interesting, which occurs about half way through, I found it difficult to put the book down.
If you are patient enough to make it through the first half, I do suggest that you read it. I believe you will find it worth the initial effort. show less
