This is a fascinating look from the inside of the search for Patty Hearst. Weed takes us from his first-hand account of the abduction to Patty's initial movements on the lam with the Harrises (the surviving SLA duo). In it, we trace his joureny to Hearst family estrangement and on the threshold of acceptance that Patty really did join in willingly with the SLA. Most interesting to me was his accounts of the food prgoram disaster and the tensions and colorful characters of the ad hoc alliance of leftist and activist groups forged together by that PIN program.
