Having grandchildren that are teenagers, I was interested in a book to shared with them. Life Lists for teens by Pamela Espeland gives tips, steps, hints and how- tos for growing up, getting along, learning and having fun, just as the title says. How I wish I had such a book when I was their age, as it answers so many questions that this age group is afraid to ask, or do not know to whom to ask. Health and wellness, staying safe, school and learning, planning ahead, online, and saving the world are just a few of the topics covered.

Living before the invention of the written language, people probably left mental and verbal lists, of safe caves to stay in, plants to eat, ways to hunt animals and steps to making tools from flint,. this is show more a human tradition stretching back to prehistorical times.. Lists can organize thinking focus energy, free up time in your day, free up space in your brain, and give you confidence to tackle things one by one.

What a great book to give to the teen you love; one who would rather not sit and talk with you about such things. Ms. Espeland has made it easy to be a caring, interested person in a young person't life without being intrusive.
