This stress reduction manual for teens uses humor to explain what stress is, as well as the negative effects stress can have on a teen’s life. Most of the book is devoted to descriptions of some of the many ways a teen can reduce stress in his/her life by getting “high.” That is, getting a natural high from life, rather than from drugs.
A few of the 150 natural ways to get “high,” or, to feel really, really good, include such things as: visualization; meditation; engaging in show more extreme sports; drawing or painting; dancing; and petting your cat or dog.
This extremely practical guide presents much needed information for teens in a format that will entertain, as well as enlighten them. The text packs lots of information onto each page, without being too wordy or using confusing terminology. The illustrations also lend a sense of lightheartedness to a sometimes serious subject.
This book should be a good addition to any middle or high school library collection.
