This book on the birth and early upbringing of the first giant panda cub at the San Diego Zoo was interesting, but more skewed to the audience that thinks of pandas and infant animals as cute. The text was nice and the reading was simple, but nothing was particularly intriguing about the story. I don't have objections to the story, but I didn't find it all that enthralling either.
Not only is this an endearing story of the birth of the giant panda, Hua Mei, but it is also hugely informational! This book doesn't just tell the story but it also gives great detail of the stages of life of a panda... that I didn't even know. The book is written with the story in big bold text and then there are bits of informational text in smaller, lighter text. It is nice that there is a size and color difference between the two so that the reader doesn't get confused and can then easily pick out the facts from the storyline.
Great non-fiction with inviting photographs.
This science book is about a little panda how it was born and grew up. This book includes great pictures, so we can look at and see how people took care of panda. Children and adults will get to know the endangered animals while reading this book. As a result, we can understand about life and animals as well.
