Jesse Younger's The Fire Engine Book is a fun shape book full of firetruck information. The book itself is shaped like a fire engine, making it eye-catching from the beginning. Each page is brightly colored with a description of the action displayed in short, easy to read sentences. The story starts at a house fire, explaining to the reader the equipment being used, to the fireman returning to the firehouse. It is a very informative book on a subject the majority of children find interesting. This would make a great addition to any library for early elementary and younger children.
This is a book that explains what fire men do for their job. It explains what type of equipment they use and where firemen live. This is a good informative book and I would use it with preschoolers because it is very simple.

Clang, clang! The fire trucks are here, ready to help put out the fire. The pumper truck will provide the water. The hook and ladder will help the fire fighters climb to the high floors of the burning building. All the important fire trucks and fire-fighting tools are included in this wonderfully-illustrated picture-book, plus funny and interesting details for children to discover along the way. -- AbeBooks.com
