Description

Bryan Kelly has a few rules.

Rule #1: Women are for fun, not commitment.
Rule #2: He'll do anything for his twin brother, even switch places with him to find out who's sabotaging his charity. But playing a really good guy isn't easy around Shay Sommers. Which brings him to . . .
Rule #3: If you can't avoid temptation, succumb with abandon.

Shay Sommers has always been a rule breaker.

She may be a society page icon, but she'll go to any length to help the street girls served by her show more favorite charity. Even if it means impersonating one of them herself. The only problem is the gorgeous man who runs the safe house. "Preacher," as he insists she call him, seems less like a shepherd and much more like a wolf . . . one with a hungry look that's making Shay feel she might be his next dinner . . . show less

A fun beach read -- perfect for my long weekend on the lanai in Boca Raton. There are clunky parts, the mystery is not as mysterious as one might hope, but this is sexy and light with likeable characters, strong healthy relationships between women (and also strong women), a celebration of public service and philanthropy, and a generally healthy world view. Good stuff.
One of the things I love about books is character development. Getting to know each character, seeing how they interact with each other and seeing new friendships/romance bud and grow. This book reminds me that if you are open you can make friends in some unlikely places, and that's a beautiful thing. Bryan and Shay really were made for each other and I hope to find out more about the characters in Visitation North Carolina soon.

Bryan Kelly is a bounty hunter determined to find out who hurt his twin brother, Bruce. So, he goes undercover in his brother's place as a preacher and saviour to a group of prostitutes. He has no doubts of his abilities to find the perpatrator until he meets Shay. One look at the woman in the see-through dress and Bryan's professionalism flies out the window.

Shay Sommers is a widowed millionaire who has been taken to task by the press because of an accident at one of her safe houses that she had no control over. When Bryan mistakes Shay for a prostitute and offers her shelter at a safe house it is an opportunity she can't resist for two reasons. One, it will allow her to get to the kind of women she works so hard to help and two, it show more will give her time to get to know Preacher Bryan much better.

Can two people of such different backgrounds meeting by way of lies, but for the best of reasons, find love and happiness together?

I think of all the Lori Foster's books I've read so far I like The Secret Life of Bryan the best. Mostly because I, like the author obviously does, greatly admire the people who are able to give of themselves to others and try to make the world a better place. I enjoyed the relationship between Shay and Bryan and the relationship between Bryan and Bruce. I've always had a soft spot for stories about twins!

Lori Foster has long been known for great romances, hot sex, and delicious storylines. She delivers another scorcher with TSLOB. For Foster fans, it's another look into the clan we were introduced to in SAY NO TO JOE? For newcomers, it's a fast, fun read into what happens when two people both pretend to be something they're not. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next installment in this interrelated series, WHEN BRUCE MET CYN.
Pretty good story with an exciting ending but at times got heavy with ruminating. Bryan is pretending to be his brother the preacher in a halfway house when he comes across Shay and thinks she's a hooker.
Sexy, hot and exciting. It's a nice light reading.
