This is a beautiful anthology of folktales from around the world. It's amazing! The stories are told in all variants of styles, lifted directly from other sources. It covers the six habitable continents, sometimes going into more detail (east Europe, west Europe, British Isles, etc.). It's a wonderful book to just pick up and read a few stories from. My sister is attempting to go through it methodically, but I prefer the approach I had when I was a really little girl--pick a tale that suits your fancy and read! Whatever you choose, it is well worth it.

A wonderful collection of folktales, many I hadn't heard about. Introduced me to several I'd like to expand into children's books.
This book is a great collection of Fairy tales. It is cut up into groups around the world as to where they were written/based.

I used to read one story every night before bed. They are wonderful short stories and it is no wonder so many of them are cherished and loved.

A huge, varied collection of tales from around the world. The perfect thing to leave by the bedside and read a little at a time.
