Although I enjoyed this book, I passed it on to my local high school due to the regular use of profanity. It didn't appear to be too mature when I purchased it, but upon reading, I discovered that it was definitely too mature for my middle school readers. The main character signs up to be part of a group travelling across Canada in order to get a science and geography credit. A boy she used to have a crush on is the van driver, but it is clear that he has problems and she steers clear of him for most of the book. She develops a relationships with another camper, Alain, and it becomes serious by the end of the book. She also makes some decisions about seeing her birth mother, and how she actually feels about her stepmother, who turns out show more to be quite cool. show less
