Esme finds a goat named Trudy at the county auction. She knew she was special from the moment she saw Trudy and as it turns out, Trudy can predict weather. The town soon talks about Trudy and her unique gift.

This is a story about a girl named Esme who goes on a trip with her grandfather to get an animal. She ends up getting a goat and naming it Trudy. Esme realizes that Trudy does not come out of the barn when it's cold or snows. Soon, the town starts to think that Trudy can predict the weather. However, one day when it does not snow, Trudy does not come out. Worried, Esme finally gets in the barn, and finds a baby goat laying next to Trudy. I would read this to a 2nd grade classroom (7-8 years old). I found this book at the Pierce College library in the ECE section.

A nice farm story with a happy ending. Trudy captures the hearts of all the townspeople but most of all Esme her owner.
