Description

When cowboy Dan Granger hires etiquette diva Lilia London for a crash course in manners, she has no idea what she's getting into. His twang and his rough manners are foreign to the well-bred Lilia. Still, she's determined to polish him. Her task would be much easier if Dan wasn't so mouthwatering--the six-pack riding above his belt alone is enough to make her mix up her forks. And when he offers to teach her his own theory of sexual etiquette--Uncivilization 101--how can she resist? But is a show more sensual trip into hedonism enough to counteract a lifetime of proper behavior? As Lilia's professionalism reasserts itself, she realizes she has to let her sexy Texan go...unless she can convince herself to do an advanced degree in Uncivilization. show less

I don't usually finish books I don't like, which is why almost all my reviews are positive. usually, if a book annoys or bores me, I'll put it aside and forget about it, so by the end of the month, I won't talk about it. But this one really bristeld my hide. Pity, too, because the book itself wasn't all that bad. Even though the sex scenes didn't work for me (it's a Blaze, it should be all about the sex scenes), the thing that really got to me was the description of the heroine's ex. maybe I obsessed too much about it, but it really, really got to me. So much so that I blogged about it, emailed the author and ranted on the RomAus group. I did finish the book though, after having flung it into the corner in disgust. you can tell the show more author has a genuine love and lust for cowboys, which is great. I just wish she hadn't weakened the cowboy appeal by pitching him against a slimy stereotyped Asian.
And that's it.
So in 2005 (plus two weeks), I managed to read 82 books. Whee! I made my goal!
Even with two weeks lost, let's aim for a round 100 this year. Even though that due to podcasting (plus a busy writing schedule), I don't seem to find as much time for reading as I want to... Pity.
