This glossy paged book is full of colourful and bizarre images as well as interesting and unusual facts. The strange topics and vivid pictures make this reference book a favourite of reluctant readers who may appreciate the quick boxes of text. Pretty much any thing you can think of that might be classified as bizarre or 'spectacle ish' is in this book. The textured, holographic covers work to catch the attentions of student readers while the sturdy hard covers and strong bindings work well in a school library. A detailed Table of Contents and Index allow readers to do a quick search if needed. Bet you can't read just one! ( )

Fascinating things from around the world. Trouble is, with the exception of some wonderful architecture, what seems to fascinate people seems to be worryingly uniform and quickly grows mundane.

However, having said that, I doubt I'm the book's target audience, and I'm sure kids will love this book. ( )
