This book did not receive any awards. This book would be good for kindergartners and first graders. They will enjoy either listening to the cd of the book or listening to the teacher read it out loud. Knick Knack Paddy Whack is a book about the child song knick knack paddy whack. With each verse of the song there is a picture of what is being sung. This book deals with music and friendship. This book will be read/sung to the students and they can sing a long too since they will most likely know it anyway. After reading we can point out all the instruments played and the then point out the rhymes in the book.

This book is not really a story, but the words to the knick knack paddy whack rhythm written. The book does include counting and with each illustration there is a new kid playing a new instrument. The illustrations are bright, vibrant and inviting.
