This 3rd edition textbook provides a "Handbook" for reading and studying poetry, followed by an anthology of poetry from the literature of 700 years: From medieval poetry, 16th century, 17th century, (Romantic period),18th century, (Victorian period), 19th century, (Modern Age) to the 20th century.
Provides no biographical information or historical introductions but a few necessary footnotes (translations of Greek, contextual reference, such as the honey bees in the lion), and the dates of the poets. ( )
