Description

Cast adrift during the War Between the States, Shannon Conner grew to womanhood in a lonely cabin high in the Colorado Rockies. Though stubborn and courageous, Shannon is ill-prepared to deal with the predatory Culpepper brothers--and the intoxicating ardour of the man who defends her honour, Rafael 'Whip' Moran.

A loner and a wanderer, a man tied to no place or promise, Whip aids the wary young 'widow' who has a walk like honey and a determined grip on her shotgun. But neither the show more Culpeppers nor grizzlies are as dangerous to Whip as the passion Shannon offers him--a passion that could cost Whip the freedom that is as much a part of him as his soul.

Mitt Moran a wanderer.

The Culpepper's are the family that want control over everybody. They think Shannon's husband is the bounty hunter-Silent John and nobody's seen him for years.
She traded her gold wedding ring for food at the market-enough for just a few weeks.
Love book for the story and how she's survived on the land all this time, her friends and her dog.
Mitt had caulked the logs in her cabin, chopped her wood, killed a deer and other animals for her to cure for the winter and a lot of other chores she was not able to do herself.
Slow hot sex scenes and I love that she shared John's secret locationss with show more him.
Loved all the outdoor things in this book and learning new tips on tracking animals. Love how he just takes care of her.

Rendezvous Review: (Editor's Note: This novel is sequel to ONLY HIS, ONLY MINE, and ONLY YOU.) Rafael "Whip" Moran is back! All of us who have read the "Only" series of books knew that it would take a special woman to tame Whip. Well, Ms. Lowell knows how to make her readers' dreams come true. She has given us the perfect heroine in the form of Shannon. Of course, nearly the first thing he learns about her is that she is married to a bounty hunter called Silent John. But the four Culpeppers, who are harrassing Shannon in the general store, hint that maybe Silent John is dead. Whip is intrigued because Shannon fits the image of the woman he has seen in his dreams -- the woman who awaits him with an open cabin door, welcoming him home. show more Plenty of action and adventure in this story set in 1868 in the Colorado Territory as a love greater than time is born between Whip and Shannon. Their trials are many, and their heartaches outnumber the wildflowers on the range. The cast of characters from the no-good, sleazy Culpeppers to Prettyface, Shannon's dog, enrich this special story. We have time to catch up with all our friends from the other three books and to savor, again, their love for each other. This is the conclusion of the "Only" series, and it only makes you hunger for more of the wonderful heroes and heroines Ms. Lowell creates. Virginia A. Deweese show less
Follows in the same theme as the first book in the series. If you like western romances with plucky females and alpha males, you will probably like this.
I miss when EL wrote like this. I prefer her older novels to her present day ones. The Only series is my favorites from her.
I was hooked on HR for a very long time - this is my top favorite series
