The Monkey's Paw [Oxford Bookworms]

Put this on your list for a perfect October read. It’s a short story that says a lot in just a few pages. When a visitor brings a cursed monkey’s paw back from his travels and claims it will grant the owner three wishes, he also warns them not to use it. Ray Bradbury cites this as the inspiration for one of his stories in The Martian Chronicles. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time.

No es que la historia de por sí de miedo, es la implicación de lo que un simple deseo puede acarrear. ¿Puede haber algo mas aterrador que la idea de ser capaz de traer a un ser querido de regreso de la muerte y que ya no sea lo que era en vida? No lo creo.

After reading this book,I was afraid.As I thought,happy things never last so long.If I meet the monkey's paw,I will never use it.

I have read this story in Japanese. But I thought it was a horrible story once more. The vague ending was rather good. If this book had had a clear ending,it might have been boring.
THE MONKEYS' PAW can give three wishes to three people. But it doesn't give wishes easily. It also gives people tragedy and terror! The White family's first wish was to get thirty thousand pounds. How will the wish come true...?

This is a story of the strange monkey's paw. There are a family consisting of three(father, mother, and a son) and a man who is this father's friend in this book. One night, he visited them and gave them "The Monkey's Paw". This is the magic paw because it can give three wishes to three people. They wanted to get money and wished. But they lost their son instead of getting money. "The Monkey's Paw" brings them unhappiness not happiness.

This story was dreadful. I thought that it is not possible to easily grant a wish. Though all the people have a desire, I think it doesn't bring people hapiness. I want the person who is not weak in a horror story to read.

when he do that, If he ignore it, he will have frightful things! However,it actually happens and..
Do you believe that thing if the actually happens? I felt afraid,but I was excited reading this book. I could the image of the contents. In my opinion,the unexpected things which made White family sad caused the fact that Mr White got the monkey's paw without pleasure. I recommend you that you shouled this book.

This is a classic horror story and it's pretty good. An old friend gives a family a monkey's paw. The monkey's paw is magic and can make wishes come true. But the family discover that wishing for one thing can cause something else to happen too. This is a dark book, but I enjoyed it. The story starts quite slowly, but keep reading because it gets better the more you read.
