I liked this book a great deal, and it was useful in my text set. In War and Peas, the great King Lion has run out of food, but his greedy neighbor has extra and won’t share. The two go to war, but eventually, after a clever trick of nature, the war ends and “peas” is restored. This book examines the inequalities that often fuel wars, and the characters are animals, avoiding racial stereotypes. ( )
