I don't normally read romance novels, so I'm not going to get too deep. The premise was believeable, the sex was hot yet tasteful, and the characters were well drawn out. Some of the relationships in the story seemed placed solely for dramatic purposes and not much else. The father, for example, was extraneous. All he served in the story was to provide tension without much reason. And boy, he was a dick. I found the story wrapped up way to fast (like in half a dozen pages) and the person responsible for the explosion was never revealed! Argh! In lieu of there being no three-and-a-half star rating, I'll give it four stars.
I finished this story but the plot dragged. Early on I thought the heroine's behavior was inconsistent and nothing seemed very believable. About halfway I started skimming all but dialogue. Izzy broods over her partial loss of sight so her sisters send her to a survival camp led by Nick.
Izzy was always fearless. An oil rig blows up and leaves her almost blind. Her sisters think that is was not an accident. The sisters enroll her in a survivor training camp. Izzy is not happy. Nick is her instructor and is determined to get her to have surgery.
What a great story line. Would reccomend reading all the books int he series.
