Not as good as her pirate themed books, but still pretty good. The fact that the heroine is a con-artist/gambler/thief should have put me off but I really liked this story with an ex-con for a hero. It was a long book but the story never flagged and I really loved the gritty characters. Canham knows how to write excellent dialog of the times.
