When I was preparing to move to Japan several years ago, I bought a bunch of books about surviving as a gaijin. This is by far the best, and the only one I kept being reminded of during the three years I spent in this country. It probably didn't do much for my negotiating skills, because I am hopeless in that regard, but I feel that I did gain an insight into the Japanese mind, and how it differs from my western culture.
