Then she found an ally in virile Cad Rankin, who wasn't about to let her become a fallen angel. It took until around chapter 8 for me to get into this story. I just didn't feel connected to the characters until then but I am finally starting to warm up to them.
For all its otherworldly components, this is basically a tried and true western. The fast draw looking for redemption in a wild west town who houses the evil rich rancher and damsel in distress. Ms. Rogers puts just enough spin on it to keep it different.
There were times when I was really into this story and others where I skimmed through the words. The story was never consistent enough to keep me entertained. Whenever I would stop reading and come back to it, it took a couple chapters for me to immerse myself back into what was happening.
I don't know what else to really say about this story, it was never really good or really bad. I do feel as if I wasted my time with it though. I guess I would just say move along folks, nothing to see here.
