Description

As a walking advertisement for the tattoo shop she's set up in a small Wyoming town, India Ellison is well acquainted with preconceived notions. Despite the odd looks and off-color comments about her off-color hair, life is good. She's clean and sober, dotes on her sister's kids and, best of all, spends most of her free time with her best buddy, cowboy Colt McKay. Reformed bad boy Colt never expected three years of sobriety to lead to three years of abstinence. Curbing his craving for booze show more and random sexual encounters is nothing compared to the ever-increasing craving for his hot-tempered, hot-bodied best friend, India. Too bad she's his A.A. sponsor. Too bad she hasn't a clue that Colt's been head-over-bootheels in love with her from day one. After an unexpected, steamy interlude, all India can think about is riding the sexy cowboy instead of her motorcycle, even when Colt is determined to show her a slower ride is worth the wait. Or are they risking their friendship for a fling that could burn them both? show less

I have loved all the books that I have read in this series. But I think this one is going to be my favorite. I am impressed that Ms. James added the conflict in the family into this stories. It makes the story more realistic and I can identify with the plot and people. Having grown up with a real Cowboy I know the ups and downs that life entails. Ms. James continues to do a really good job of showing what that type of life can entail on a day to day basis. It is hard and sometimes miserable work. You are often out in the middle of no where hours from the nearest shopping or schools or medical care. You are fighting mother nature to keep feed and water for the animals that you are raising to sell. It isn't for everyone and show more those that thrive on that life are seldom appreciated for their sacrifices. I look forward to the rest of this series and any other books Ms. James wants to write.

We finally get Colt story. We haven’t heard much about Colt since COWGIRL UP AND RIDE. This story starts three years after the end of COWGIRL UP AND RIDE. Colt is sober and has stayed that way for three years. In that three years he has formed a friendship with India Ellison that he would really like to make more of a permanent relationship with. Colt has fallen for the fiery beauty and he doesn't know how to take things to the next step. He doesn't want to lose his friendship with India if she doesn't feel the same for him. It shouldn't surprise anyone that India feels the same for Colt. These two are more alike than anyone would guess. Yes, Colt is a working cowboy and India is a tattoo artist with funky hair, tattoos all over and rides a motorcycle like the devil himself is after her but they are both kind and compassionate people.

I can only imagine the hell that Colt has gone through to turn his life around. Addiction is pretty and getting clean is very, very hard. Colt has worked his way through and has found ways to help youngsters make better decisions about drugs and alcohol. He has become an advocate for at risk youth and helps raise money for programs to help said youth. Colt is also a very dominant lover and man. He has a kinky side that will make you want to be part of his fantasies. For all his rebellion Colt is a smart, responsible, and loving individual. He wants his family’s approval and he never seems to get it until Cam lets loose on the whole bunch of them. The last few chapters of the book are full of apologies for his brothers and his dad.

India has never really had a relationship with a man. She never really dated as a teenager more into drinking and risky behavior than forming a permanent bond. I am not sure what led her to drinking and drugs but she finally turned her life around and has been sober for eight years. She is happy with her life in Sundance, for the most part anyway. She loves her nieces and her sister as well as her brother-in-law Kade. At this point in the story of the McKay’s Kade and Sky have Eliza and a set of twins Shannie and Peyton. India is still a little uncertain about how people in Sundance feel about her but she is taking things one day at a time. She does a lot of volunteer work at the rec center as well as at A.A. meetings. I love that she stands up to Carolyn McKay just like Cam did.

This is the ongoing story of the trials and tribulations of the McKay Clan. This is a big family and there are always things going on, the birth of children, the never ending work of keeping a large ranch running as well as the heartaches and joys of being a family. This is probably the hardest story to read because of the ongoing recovery of Colt and the blow up of Cam at his brother and father for their treatment of Colt. There is humor to offset the intense drama and more than a little steamy hot dominant love play. Be prepared for bandage, anal sex, sex outside and any place else the two can find and there is spanking.

This erotic story did a good job dealing with issues facing alcohol addiction but development of relationship didn't always seem real and all the sex scenes were bunched together so my rating is 3.5* Best friends cowboy Colt and his AA sponsor India, a tattoo shop owner, think about taking their relationship to the next level.
4.5 stars Couldn't give it 5 cuz India annoyed me at the end during their fight.
