My Thoughts...I bought this months ago and sadly it's been sat on my shelf neglected until last night where I sucked it up in less than a hour before before bed. Now, I love Kelley Armstrong - I've said it so much that I probably border on the line of obsessed. But Kelley has a such a way of crafting absorbing characters and fantastic urban settings that it's enough to leave you hanging for more once you finish reading your first book.Eve is one of my favourite of Armstrong's characters. She and I didn't start off on good feet, I wasn't overly keen on the idea first of a whole novel dedicated to the ghostly witch but Eve's wit and straightforward, no nonsense attitude was refreshing and quickly won me over in Haunted. In this novella show more Eve is summoned by the fates to bring in a group of rebel djinn. Eve, at the end of her patience with her role as an angel, is frustrated at being pulled back in yet again for another investigation and soon plots a way to exploit this job to her own purposes, get fired.Final Thoughts...I had to shake the cobwebs before I started reading this and though I was a little stung at the price I soon forgot about it all as I slipped into Eve's world and became engrossed in the story. This is an excellent addition to the Women of The Otherworld series. Be warned, if you are going to purchase a copy (Subterranean is sold out) it is under 100 pages long and the font is on the larger side. But if you're a fan and have an opportunity to read this I highly recommend you do. If not, you're not really missing anything so you don't have to worry too much! show less
A great novella in the Otherworld Stories series. I love Eve and Kris and I was so happy when they were able to find their workaround. This was a quick story and Eve was able to swiftly wrap up the job and return to her vacation.
Angelic is a little peak into the world of Eve Levine and her work as an angelic enforcer. She’s already narrated a full-length book, Haunted, and an online story, but this is most definitely a welcome return. She’s one of my favourite characters in Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld because she’s such a fun mixture of dark and light.

In Angelic, Eve is tasked with quelling a djinn revolt when she’s supposed to be on her holiday. It’s a fast read but it has some great moments and is a satisfying story. I’m sure it could have been longer but, as it is, it’s a tight and enjoyable novella. As always, Kelley Armstrong delivers an engaging story that leaves you wanting more. I’m glad that she decided to put out Angelic, even if show more it did end up costing a fortune. (Subterranean Press does not do cheap releases and they charge a pretty penny to ship to Canada, all in U.S. dollars. Despite this, I’m quite happy with my purchase and look forward to the author’s next release with this publishing house, a novella narrated by Paige.)

A novella following renegade angel Eve. She was a witch who dabbled in dark magic in life and in death works on behalf of the Fates. It slots into the Women of the Otherworld series anywhere after Haunted (book five) where Eve first takes centre stage. She doesn't exactly go about her new job in a conventional way (this is pretty much why she is so useful to the Fates) and this time she is out to stop a djinn and a demonic rebellion. Problem is that when she does break the rules, she is always reprimanded and she is sick of it. She has it mind that this will be her last mission for the Fates and then she is done and quitting.

Nothing is as simple as it first seems though (isn't that always the way), and soon she is fighting for her life, show more trying to stop a rebellion and amidst all this there is also the potential that there is a traitor in the angelic ranks. I'm still loving this series. Eve is a great character with a lot of depth and I really hope she makes an appearance in later novels. It will be interesting to see if Savanah (her daughter) gets her own tale at some point as well. show less
Amazon preorder,

This is really just a longish short story, packaged with some nice art. If you follow the Women of the Otherworld stuff it's a nice little follow on about Eve and Kristof, although it might work as a standalone.

Some additional nice character insight and some seriously nice art. A bit pricey for what you get but I enjoyed it.
Kelley Armstrong is a progeny when it comes to supernatural writing. Her books leave you breathless with their racy romances, the constant struggles, and the exciting stories. She does all of this effortlessly and you have no choice but to plummet without stumbling straight into her world. She has created such a strong presence in all of her characters that everything about them makes them seem real! You get so caught up in their stories that you feel you are a part of them. I cannot say enough good things about Kelley!
I listened to the audio of this novella today. It wasn't bad but it isn't something you have to read as part of the series. It's an Eve book set 5 years after [b:Haunted|11919|Haunted (Women of the Otherworld, #5)|Kelley Armstrong|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166490276s/11919.jpg|827362]. I would have rather had the book so I could look at the illustrations but I wasn't savvy enough to figure out this was a limited edition. I learned my lesson, I've pre-ordered the next one, [b:Counterfeit Magic|7857695|Counterfeit Magic|Kelley Armstrong|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nocover-60x80.jpg|10997187] (a Paige book featuring Savannah) which Kelley has promised will be even better (and longer).
