Description
When Lucie Montgomery stumbles across a skull in her vineyard--just after the tornado that almost kills her--little does she suspect the skeletons in the family closet to which the discovery will lead in Crosby's sprightly fourth Virginia wine country mystery (after 2008's The Bordeaux Betrayal). But who can blame the amateur detective for being a bit off her game, with the hurricane of headaches already buffeting Montgomery Estate Vineyard? Hot-tempered winemaker Quinn Santori and handsome show more new manager Chance Miller (Lucie is attracted to both) are at each other's throats--and hundreds of Civil War buffs are due in days to re-enact the 1861 Battle of Ball's Bluff. show lessTags

Love this series! Another very interesting book in the wine country series. The story begins with a tornado turning up a skeleton in the vineyard and Lucie's father is the suspect in a 30 yr old murder. While big plans are being made for a civil re-enactment, problems at the winery and credit card theft are also happening. Interesting and fun read.
Lucie has trouble in abundance at Montgomery Vineyards with the animosity between Quinn and Chance, her brother's impending divorce, credit card thefts and items disappearing, so what more could happen…how about a tornado that rips through the vineyard uncovering a thirty-year old skeleton which turns out to be an enemy of her father all at the same time as she is supposed to be hosting a Civil War re-enactment?
This mystery was fun and funny and sad and serious altogether. I love most of the characters - some I could do without but overall, a definite plus to the series.

After surviving a tornado while stuck out in her vineyard, Lucie Montgomery uncovers a skeleton. The skeleton turns out to be a missing person with ties to her father who already has a scandalous past. When the authorities accuse her father of murder Lucie goes on a hunt to clear his name, yet again.
This 4th in the series is better than the last two. New characters that are introduced are better developed and provide more entertainment to the plot. Some long at hinted things occur finally regarding Lucie's wine maker Quinn and her brother Eli. This makes the next novel, a much anticipated read by me.

this book had a lot of promise that wasn't quite fully realized. still charmed by the settings and characters, but this instalment was a bit sloppy and inconsistent.
Another great addition to the Wine Country Mysteries. Trouble is stirred up when a tornado passes through. What was unearthed leads to a quest for truth. Once again, there are surprises along the way.
Didn't catch me.
