I wanted to get the most out of my trip to D.C., so I read most of this book before I left and took it along with me on my trip. I felt like I was Jamie in the movie 'Eurotrip'. I was so well informed that I was able to help others with their vacations. I actually had one lady ask me if I wanted to walk with her family for the day to show them the sights. Because of Frommer's, I was able to see things that I wouldn't have been able to if I hadn't read the book. For instance, it was so helpful to know that both the Washington Monument and the Holocaust Museum required tickets and that they run out of tickets sometimes by 9:00 am. Without this knowledge, I wouldn't have been able to go into either place. Also, it told me of a great show more restaurant located at the Museum of the American Indian. Again, I would have missed this if I hadn't read the book.

The book also had a great map included in it. I took it along with me, and had other sightseers ask me where I got it. It was detailed, and clearly showed the major points of interest in D.C. It also includes a great map of the Metro system, which made it so easy to get around D.C. This book made my trip so much more enjoyable, and is definitely worth the purchase price. It's one of those 'don't leave home without it' books.
