This very simple book that focuses primarily on color recognition, employs consistent repetition and vivid, colorful illustrations to enrich the text. It is an effective read-aloud selection for younger grades and worked well for kindergarten and first grade classes.
This book is about a black spot, on an orange butterfly, on a purple parrot, on a brown nut, on a green tree, on a red rock, in the middle of the deep blue sea
Good story, awesome pictures, and easy words so that just about anyone can read it. It doesn't have many pages either so that makes it the perfect beginning picture book for any 4 year old.

This is a great story to teach young children about colors. I like how the text displayed the color that it was written in. This helps student to know when they see it that it matches the word. I also really enjoyed how the picture matched the text, for example when it said "there is the sea, the deep blue sea" the picture in the background showed the sea. This helps students connect what is being read to them and helps them comprehend the two together.
This is a very simple book about the ocean. It starts with an island in the middle of the ocean, and many things come upon the isnland in the middle of the ocean. At the end of the book their is a beautiful rainbow that shines above the deep blue sea and the island.
In this book it talks about different colors of things that are in the ocean and or are around the ocean. While teaching children about different colors and animals the bright colors in the book are intreging and allows them to focus more on the book. This book also had great concept and would be a great book to read to kindergartners or preschoolers.

This book is great for discussing colors. Every color is found in the deep blue sea. At the end of the book there is a rainbow of the deep blue sea. This book is full of vivid colors and is great for children in kindergarten. I would do a picture walk with this book and do a read aloud. If I was to use this for first grade I would have them read it in small group. I suggest you read this book and see what you see in the deep blue sea!
I thought that this book would be appropriate for someone probably younger than kindergarten because most children that are this age or higher already know their colors. Other than learning your colors out of it, it was not a very interesting book. Another thing that it would be go to use for, however, would be choral reading because it is very repetitive in the beginning.
This was a colorful book full of beautiful illustrations. The pictures were so bright and colorful. I would add this to my collection simply based on the illustrations.
