This is a good example of a realistic fiction book. Everything in the story could happen in real life and the characters are believable and probably remind most of us of kids we know in real life that are like them. The storyline is simple and understandable. The setting in this story is a pumkin patch but it is a background setting because this story could really take place anywhere which is part of what makes it so relatable and realistic.
