A wealthy, uncaring man is haunted by Christmas spirits.

1/4 (Bad).

It's a serious, dramatic adaptation of A Christmas Carol, and it's also a Mr. Magoo cartoon. What? Why? ( )

An animated, magical, musical version of Dickens' timeless classic "A Christmas Carol." The nearsighted Mr. Magoo doesn't have a ghost of a chance as Ebenezer Scrooge, unless he learns the true meaning of Christmas from the three spirits who haunt him one Christmas Eve.

In the context of the times, this was a good cartoon, but it doesn't wear well for today unless you are a Magoo nostalgia buff.
I liked it long ago for the music, and for the pathos of the young Scrooge at the school. The story is severely abridged, but Magoo makes a good Scrooge.
Dates are for a recent watching, as I first saw this as a child, and have seen it several times since then. Re-watched 2016-12. ( )
