Description

Mermaid Angel Tritone has been researching humans from afar, hoping to find a way to convince them to stop polluting. When she jumps into a boat to escape a shark attack, it's her chance to pursue her mission, but she has to keep her identity a total secret. For Logan Hardington, finding a beautiful woman on his boat is surely not a problem, especially since her presence helps his relationship with his young, newfound son, but when Logan realizes what she truly is, and the jeopardy his show more family is in, he doesn't know whom to trust. show less

Reading the back cover of this book is a bit like revisiting a favorite friend. At last, it’s Angel’s turn – the Mer (not mermaid) sister who’s always been so intrigued by humans in Judi Fennell’s previous books.

When Logan Hardington finds the beautiful Angel (now with legs rather than fins) hiding on his boat it certainly seems like the Catch of a Lifetime. The fact that she’s naked (she is a Mer after all) and his six-year-old son is standing on the pier is a bit of a problem, but Logan just loans her his shirt – what an honorable man.

Angel’s struggles to understand human society, despite all her studies, provide for fascinating and amusing mistakes as Logan takes her shopping for clothes. And author Judi Fennell, show more knows just how to write those mistakes into delightful dialog, keeping the reader smiling and eager for more. Meanwhile, of course, Logan makes his own mistakes, and the path of true love never runs smooth, especially not when the sharks lying in wait are real ones with real fins and evil intent.

The novel includes all Judi Fennell’s trademark creatures and puns, plus a delightful young child in Logan’s son, and some fascinating questions about the willingness of children to believe, and adults to disbelieve their ears and eyes. Greek mythology is neatly woven in, providing intriguing reasons to ponder free will, care for the planet, and the way large changes start with tiny steps. Catch of a Lifetime is a fun and worthy follow-up to In Over Her Head and Wild Blue Under and a very enjoyable romance.

Another one I got free from amazon....they are being exceptionally nice at the moment :) This one reminded me a lot of the little mermaid. Angel is a Mer (dont say mermaid...apparently that is a big no-no!) who wants the job as liason between humans and sea-life to talk about the pollution in the sea. She ends up on the boat of Logan, a man who is trying to build a relationship with the 6 year old child he just found out he has. Michael (the child) knows Angel is a mermaid and agrees to keep it secret (once the sea water dries the tail becomes legs). Logan and Angel are very attracted to each other (helped by the fact that when he finds her she is naked and also that she manages to accidently bewitch him with a sirens song whilst show more singing happy birthday to michael) but she knows it can never be because he doesnt know what she truely is. We spend the first 3/4 of the book with Angel trying not to fall in love with Logan and trying to hide from her brother (who doesnt know where she is). Then disaster strikes and Mike goes missing in the sea so they have to team up (with her as a Mer) to get to him

I loved it. It was original, funny (especially the secondary charcaters). it isnt the first in the series and I think I need to read the first one and re-review when I have got some of the references that are in this book. Well recommended but start with the first one! I will be looking out for more by this author

Angel is the youngest Tritone sibling and is out to prove herself and to her brother Rod. After being almost attacked by a shark Angel wakes to find herself naked and on the boat of hunky Logan Hardington. She realizes this is her chance to learn more about humans and maybe even help the planet.

Catch of a Lifetime is a heart warming tale. Angel and Logan's story is filled with wonderment and adventure. They have a great connection that is hard to deny. Not to mention sizzling hot! I have really loved, the series as a whole. Especially the first book, In Over Her Head. Ms. Fennell has created a delightful world that, I have enjoyed escaping to. It is both dangerous and fun. If you like mermaid stories and don't mind talking sea show more creatures, I definitely recommend giving this one a try. show less
