Syd was brought up as a hunter, the sort of family that dedicated their lives to the eradication of the werewolves. Syd has dreamed of a werewolf lover for most of her life. Eventually she meets Jayson, the star of her dreams. Soon, Jayson and Syd are trying to keep her dad and his friends- the hunters- from killing them both.
It's not terrible, but I found it deeply flawed. The characters are flat. They don't change and develop, even when bombshells are dropped on them. Syd takes show more life-altering changes more or less in stride, and fails utterly to develop into a likable character. She continues to be self-critical to an almost debilitating degree. The rest of the characters come off as so stereotyped as to completely lose all credibility. Jayson is the perfect alpha male. Benjy is the flamingly gay sidekick always flirting with the alpha, and Max, Syd's ex-boyfriend (and closet gay) both give the book a thin "we're ok with gay" veneer that may have worked had there been any depth, but came off as insulting.
The pace of the book was somewhat skewed. Things took forever to get started, with no sort of suspense to help move things along. The ending scene took forever, and failed to resolve anything. I couldn't quite believe it when there was a gaping hole in the plot and suddenly I was reading an epilogue. show less

Dancin' in the Moonlight is the "werewolf" book in the Still Sexy Ladies Guide to Dating Immortals series, all of which are written by different authors. The book was primarily sex scenes with bits of action thrown in. The sex was graphic at times, but never in a scorching, sexy way. The tone seemed to lean towards funny, but the humor mostly falls flat.
The story is about a werewolf named Devlin who needs to find his one true mate in order to rule his clan. The mate is Tala, who falls for show more him even though her common sense tells her not to. Enter a brother who wants to stop their love in order to become ruler himself and a band of shifter hunters they all must escape.
Sadly, there was nothing to distinguish this book from any other shifter tale other than a few minor gay and bisexual characters written into the novel with no purpose. It seemed as though they were added to compensate for the rampant homophobia and sexually oriented slurs coming from the hunters. show less

When a couple of men stumble on the knowledge that every night a lovely woman comes into the bar and takes home not one, but a pair of willing men they thought their prayers had been answered. Instead it might turn out to be their worst nightmare.
Carl and Robert thought that tonight was going to be a very lucky night for them when a sexy seductress caught their gaze and returned it with a willing smile that promised much more. Falling over themselves to become the objects of her attraction show more for the night, which seemed almost too easy, the men still believe it would be a blessing to keep her attention.
Miranda was old hat at this game. She had one goal in mind when she stepped over the threshold of the bar, and the two men jousting for her attentions would be just perfect for the games she had in mind for the evening.
Preliminaries at the bar were soon taken care of and the trio headed to find a place to get better acquainted. The sexy woman soon took the lead when a little light BDSM was introduced to the games, with Miranda letting the two dominate her and thusly earning their trust. When the tables are turned not only does Miranda get the boys to play a bit with each other, but she literally sets them up for the orgasm to end all orgasms for each of her partners.
With this short novella came the vision of a very strong and dominant woman who demanded one thing from her partners and took it greedily without remorse. Miranda almost seems to be on the brink of a life changing decision with these two men, but follows through with her commitment to her sire and her needs and takes what she requires from her lovers to satisfy her cravings.

It's an easy but enjoyable read. My only problem is that is was to short. I knew that going in, but it leant itself to more with ease.
The side relationship with the friends was fun. It's a great read for a rainy afternoon.
