A beautiful and ruthless lady from Ohio, Zeo Zoe Wilkins made her living as a gold digger, marrying a series of wealthy older men. She hired attorney Jesse James, Jr. to provide legal muscle to extract money from an ex-husband. On the night of March 15, 1924, she was brutally murdered in her Kansas City home. This book was not quite what I expected. It read more like a documentary than an novel. It was split into 3 sections. The first being the story of Zeo Zoe Wilkins, the second the story of Jesse E. James, and the third what happened after they met.

That being said, it was an interesting read that kept pulling me forward wanting to know what happens next. How many more husbands could Zeo Zoe Wilkins con? Could Jesse E. James ever live down the escapades of his father? What would happen when the two collided? Who did it?
