In 1818, off the coast of California, eleven year old Carlito helps his father as a fisherman. One day, the village is warned that pirates are coming. When the pirates do arrive, they attack viciously, and kill Carlito’s father. Carlito is determined to get revenge on the pirates and ends up as a stow-away on their ship. Now with the enemy, will he be able to survive?
In 1818, 11 year old Carlito becomes a stowaway on a pirate ship in order to get revenge on the those who murdered his father. Reading level 5.
