it was alright. I wish it had told more of his life, but I suppose that's what another volume is for. ( )

I had never read any of the Donald Duck cartoons when I was a kid. I wish I had! ( )

This book is very funny! In the beginning of this book, young Scrooge McDuck is defending his ancestors castle. Later in this book Scrooge decides to go to America to make his fortune. Later in this book, Scrooge meets his uncle while he was playing a poker game. Later, Scrooge realizes that his fortune doesn't lie with the riverboat since the railroad has been the faster mode of transportation. When he reaches the wild west, he becomes part of a cattle ranching business. When the boss' prize bull gets stolen, its up to Scrooge to get him back. When Scrooge gets the bull back,he gets a letter from his parents to return to Scotland. When he returns to Scotland, he restores his ancestors' castle. That is what happened in the first volume of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.

I thought that this book is one of the first Grapic Novels that I really loved. For one it has a great story line. I mean right now at the end of the book, he is about twenty-years old. Another reason I loved this book is I liked that each different chapter was a different time in Scrooge's life. Also why I liked this book is I liked how the story was moving very smoothly. The last reason why I liked this book is that the graphic novel was funny at the same time. That is why I liked this book. ( )
