Gómez de la Serna says in the prologue: “Ahora voy descubriendo que la muerte va llegando por carestía de temas.” (“Now I am finding out, that death is drawing closer to me by the lack of subjects.”) What seems to be paradoxical considering this incredibly fertile author with a gargantuan oeuvre. If someone does not know, where to start reading, he should choose his autobiography.
