An adaptation of a Mayan myth about how the moon falls into the ocean one night. The moon, Luna, makes friends with the fish and creatures of the sea, but she longs for her home in the sky. Her new friends in the sea help put her back together and after raising her back up to the sky, they join her there. Some Spanish words are incorporated throughout the text. The illustrations feature interesting, colorful abstract art.
This Maya Myth book is about a moon called luna who falls down from the sky because of a whoosh from a blowgun. She falls into the deep sea and in order to get back into one piece and back into the sky she needs help from the tiny fish in the sea. The fish help her get back together and into the sky. The fish and moon are now friends in the sky.
Luna, the moon, breaks into pieces and finds herself at the bottom of the ocean! She is so sad and alone, but her new fish friends use their scales to stick her back together and return to the sky where she belongs.
