Description

David Attenborough recounts here the progress of an expedition to film and capture some Birds of Paradise. His first sight of the exotic creatures' feathers are in a headdress, in a part of New Guinea that was, when he went there in the 1950s, remarkably untouched by civilization.

It was a real delight to hear this brief audiobook narrated by author David Attenborough, a naturalist. His quest in New Guinea for the Bird of Paradise and other exotic avians is an exploration into Edenic beauty and the culture clash of Westerner confronted with inscrutable natives.
