I learned everything I know about the TCP/IP protocol from this book. I have generally found the O'Reilly books to be head and shoulders above the others. I had to read it paragraph by paragraph, taking notes, working through the math, but I taught myself everything and I attribute my understanding to this book. After studying it, I was able to read through other books much more easily. It took effort, but it was well worth it.
